pertwee head grab
I don't know why it took me this long, but I have finally discovered Anime. I guess I was put off by the big eyes and tiny noses, I figured it was all either Sailor Moon or tentacle hentai.

Wow. Wrong.

I'm going to do a picspam review of everything I've been watching recently (including Yami no Matsuei, Loveless, 07 Ghost, and Death Note), but at present I'm continually watching Bleach until my eyes bleed...

Daughter and Elder-Son are both into it, and Elder-Son would not be if it was just cutesy stuff.

I have to say, Bleach is pretty spectacular. It's Harry Potter With Less Angst and More Ninjas.

Watch Serial Experiments Lain. You'll not regret it.

Oooo, just looked at the plot description, looks intriguing, thanks for the rec.

Ooo, Death Note is neat! I watched some of those shows online because my kids were into it, and I was able to take them to see one of the Death Note movies that came out a while back where they had actual actors playing the people. Now it's been a while since I've seen any of it, but it was addictive. :)

The complexity and seriousness of the plot is just amazing, definitely not what you expect to see in a cartoon.

Last summer, I got really into Ouran High School Host Club. It's really just sugar, so don't expect much actual story to it. Other than that, I'm only into Miyazaki movies. He's a genius.

I will look for Miyazaki movies, thanks!

Definitely suggest Full Metal Alchemist :D

I am glad to see you are having fun! ;-)

Three sites that my daughters and I have been viewing:

animecrazy.net
animeready.com
dramacrazy.net (live action dramas of the anime/manga)

The next anime convention in Seattle won't be until April 22, 2011, but there will be one in Portland during the Labor Day weekend. These are fun to attend, mainly to see people dressed up as anime characters. My icon is of the button my oldest daughter made of me at A-Kon in Dallas. She gets a table in the artist alley to draw and sell buttons of the people attending. She will be at AnimeFest in Dallas over the Labor Day weekend selling her buttons again.

Once-upon-a-time, I was into Anime, but my wife doesn't like it, so I feel I've been missing out.

Looking forward to your reviews! Death Note is on my "to read/watch" pile. Oh and someone mentioned Serial Experiments Lain. That was the first anime I ever saw and I totally loved it at the time.
